Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AIDNW)

This organization’s mission is assisting immigrants held in and released from the ICE Federal Processing Center in Tacoma. Services include visitation; donation of books, craft materials, and phone cards to those in detention; and providing food, clothing, travel assistance, and, if necessary, short-term housing to detainees who are released.

Interfaith Council to Prevent Homelessness (IFCH)

The IFCH assists Vashon residents experiencing food and housing insecurity by providing five meals a week, housing and transportation assistance, and warm clothing.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA)

A program of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the PDA responds to natural disasters, other catastrophic events, and refugee resettlement.

Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation (VCSF)

This organization awards scholarships to graduating Vashon High School seniors. Through the VCSF, we have established the Vashon Presbyterian Church Scholarship, which is awarded in May to a senior selected by the VPC session. Learn more about our scholarship programs.

Vashon-Maury Island Community Food Bank

The Food Bank, which started in the basement of our church, provides food, personal hygiene items, and kitchen needs to islanders. They also operate a summer lunch program.

United Presbyterian Church of Vietnam, a mission partner of Vashon Presbyterian Church

Vietnam Ministries

We provide financial assistance to the United Presbyterian Church of Vietnam (UPCV) to enable its ministry in a country where organized religion is challenged. The ministry not only supports the UPCV operations (which were adversely affected by COVID) but also a scholarship program and medical clinic.
